It is widely recognized that gyokuro tea is the highest expressing of Japanese green tea and the very best come from Uji, Kyoto. Among them, those that are handled by Master Tea Maker, Yamashita Jyuichi, is considered to the gold standard, so much so that it is served to the Imperial Family of Japan. Among the gyokuros of Jyuichi Yamashita, this "Gyokuro Yamashita Jirushi" is the most approachable at a truly great value.

When brewed at a low temperature (122~140 °F) for a minute to a minute and a half, you can experience the rich sweetness and the true natural umami of the gyokuro, all with a pleasant and refreshing finish. You can continue to enjoy the tea for a second and third cup by increasing the temperature of the water slightly and reduce the brewing time. Don’t forget to squeeze out the last drop of tea to extract maximum flavor!
